The former site of Sutches Farm in Digmoor Area of Skelmersdale is being transformed into 23 brand-new 2 and 3 bedroom family homes.
Groundworks for new housing development
Built to exceptional standards with high specification kitchens and bathrooms, all homes will benefit from the latest energy efficient products, spacious gardens and off street parking.
Situated on a main thoroughfare to and from the Town Centre, the development is located close to local schools and shopping/leisure amenities.
We’ve included works such as:
- remediation of the existing site
- service diversions
- installaton of new roads
- sewers infrastructure
- housing plot groundworks
We worked closely with the client and their project team to develop a remediation strategy for the site which had been disused for over 10 years. This involved the recycling of over 800 discarded tyres on site which were reused in the scheme as rubber binder course additive for the public footpaths.
Once the site had been remediated, works commenced on utility service diversions and preparing the site for the overall build programme. We installed a new surface water carrier drain measuring 1050mm in diameter utilising our own heavy plant and machinery. 2400mm diameter attenuation manholes were constructed using ‘Vertform’ perfect manhole system, ensuring a speedy compliant construction. We installed a new adoptable highway standard road to service the newly constructed
properties utilising Tarmac Ultilow materials, a sustainable low temperature asphalt that provided our client with 25% carbon footprint saving compared to hot equivalents.
As with all HA Civils projects, there was no compromise on safety and the scheme was delivered with zero reportable accidents or incidents, on time and within our clients budget.
